Cincinnati Area Map/Information

The University of Cincinnati is located approximately two miles north of the downtown business district of Cincinnati, Ohio easily accessible from Interstate Highway 71 (I-71) or Interstate Highway 75 (I--75).

The Structural Dynamics Research Lab (UC-SDRL) is located in the Baldwin Hall/Rhodes Hall Complex in Rooms 584B, 584C, 584D and the High Bay Laboratory. Parking is available nearby in the Langsam Library Garage or in the College of Business Administration (CBA) Garage. Access to these garages is from the north side of the UC campus from Martin Luther King Drive

Driving Instructions

• From the Airport
  

  From the Cincinnati International Airport, which is located in northern Kentucky, follow I-275 east to northbound I-75. Follow northbound I-75 to the Hopple Street Exit (exit from the left-hand lane of I-75). Turn left onto Hopple Street at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Follow Hopple Street approximately four traffic lights (cross Central Parkway and continue up the hill) to the traffic light at the top of the hill (Intersection with Clifton Avenue). Hopple Street changes names to Martin Luther King Drive at this intersection. This intersection is at the northwest corner of the UC campus. Follow the UC campus map(s) to an appropriate parking area.

   

• From Southbound I-75
  

  Follow southbound I-75 to the Hopple Street Exit. Turn left onto Hopple Street at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Follow Hopple Street approximately four traffic lights (cross Central Parkway and continue up the hill) to the traffic light at the top of the hill (Intersection with Clifton Avenue). Hopple Street changes names to Martin Luther King Drive at this intersection. This intersection is at the northwest corner of the UC campus. Follow the UC campus map(s) to an appropriate parking area.

   

• From Northbound I-75
  

  Follow northbound I-75 to the Hopple Street Exit (exit from the left-hand lane of I-75). Turn left onto Hopple Street at the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Follow Hopple Street approximately four traffic lights (cross Central Parkway and continue up the hill) to the traffic light at the top of the hill (Intersection with Clifton Avenue). Hopple Street changes names to Martin Luther King Drive at this intersection. This intersection is at the northwest corner of the UC campus. Follow the UC campus map(s) to an appropriate parking area.

   

• From Southbound I-71
  

  Follow southbound I-71 to the William Howard Taft Road Exit. At the end of the exit ramp (the first traffic light), stay in the right-hand lane. At the next traffic light (the second traffic light), turn right on Reading Road. Proceed on Reading Road (north) to Martin Luther King Drive (approximately three traffic lights). Turn left on Martin Luther King Drive and follow Martin Luther King Drive until you reach the UC campus (approximately one mile). The UC campus will be on your left and you will be entering the UC campus from the northeast corner of the UC campus. Follow the UC campus map(s) to an appropriate parking area.

   

• From Northbound I-71
  

  Follow northbound I-71 to the first exit north of the Ohio River (exit is from the left-hand lane of I-71) which will be the Reading Road exit. Proceed on Reading Road (north) to Martin Luther King Drive (approximately eight traffic lights). Turn left on Martin Luther King Drive and follow Martin Luther King Drive until you reach the UC campus (approximately one mile). The UC campus will be on your left and you will be entering the UC campus from the northeast corner of the UC campus. Follow the UC campus map(s) to an appropriate parking area.

   

Local Lodging Information

The local hotels are listed as a reference for guests traveling to the UC-SDRL and requiring overnight accomodations. Any hotel in the downtown Cincinnati business district will be within two miles from the UC campus and will have restaurant facilities nearby.  Another area that may be a good choice is the Kenwood Mall area at Exit 12 on I-71 (about ten miles northeast from campus) which has several hotels and a number of restaurants.
