UC-SDRL Research Software License

While all licenses to use the UC-SDRL Research Software are free, they all require the purchase of a Distribution/Maintenance Fee to cover the initial distribution of the software and maintenance for the first year.   The Distribution/Maintenance Fee varies according to the number of users. 

The procedure for a Single User situation is somewhat simplified in that, for legal reasons, a UC-SDRL Research Software License with a Single User Distribution/Maintenance Fee can be purchased via the web by using a "click-thru" license.  In this case the individual is agreeing to abide by the Terms and Conditions.

The procedure for any type of multiple user situation (Multiple User, Site User, Educational User) is more complicated in that, for legal reasons, a signed UC-SDRL Research Software License from the user organization is required.  A number of individuals in an organization may each use the "click-thru" license and purchase the associated Single User Distribution/Maintenance Fee if the organization is unable to sign the UC-SDRL Research Software License agreement. In this case, each individual is agreeing to abide by the Terms and Conditions.
