Overview of the File Formats Reference Guide

This guide discusses picture file command formats, and commands. It also explains the use of universal files and lists universal file datasets.

Picture files let you capture graphic images displayed on the screen and write the graphic information to an external file.

Universal files are ASCII data files that you can use to store selected information from a model file, to interface with programs of your own, or to transfer information between different types of computers.
